For a company in the offshore wind energy sector in Northern Germany, we are seeking a Head of Steel Design (m/f/d) for a permanent position.

In dieser verantwortungsvollen Rolle übernehmen Sie die fachliche und disziplinarische Leitung des Bereichs Stahlkonstruktion. Sie steuern anspruchsvolle Projekte im Offshore-Bereich und stellen sicher, dass unsere Plattformen höchsten technischen Standards gerecht werden.

In this responsible role, you will take on both the technical and disciplinary leadership of the steel construction department. You will manage challenging offshore projects and ensure that our platforms meet the highest technical standards.

Ihre Aufgaben:

Fachliche und disziplinarische Führung eines Teams aus Stahlbau- und Strukturingenieur:innen
Verantwortung für Entwurf, Berechnung und Detaillierung von Stahlkonstruktionen über alle Projektphasen hinweg
Sicherstellung der Einhaltung geltender Normen, Regelwerke und Offshore-Sicherheitsrichtlinien (z. B. DNV, Eurocode, ISO)
Schnittstellenmanagement zu angrenzenden Disziplinen sowie externen Partnern und Zertifizierern
Überwachung von Qualität, Fortschritt und Budget der Konstruktionsleistungen
Weiterentwicklung technischer Standards und Prozesse im Bereich Steel Design

Your Responsibilities:

Technical and disciplinary leadership of a team of steel construction and structural engineers
Responsibility for design, calculation, and detailing of steel structures throughout all project phases
Ensuring compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and offshore safety guidelines (e.g., DNV, Eurocode, ISO)
Interface management with related disciplines as well as external partners and certification bodies
Monitoring the quality, progress, and budget of design services
Further development of technical standards and processes in the field of steel design

Ihr Profil:

Abgeschlossenes Studium im Bauingenieurwesen, Maschinenbau, Schiffbau oder einer verwandten Fachrichtung
Mehrjährige Berufserfahrung im Stahlbau – idealerweise im Offshore-, Energie- oder maritimen Umfeld
Nachgewiesene Führungserfahrung in technischen Teams
Fundierte Kenntnisse in Statik, Offshore-Normen und Fertigungstechnologien im Stahlbau
Verhandlungssichere Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
Strukturierte, lösungsorientierte Arbeitsweise sowie ausgeprägte Kommunikationsstärke

Your Profile:

Degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, naval architecture, or a related discipline
Several years of professional experience in steel construction – ideally in the offshore, energy, or maritime sector
Proven leadership experience in technical teams
Solid knowledge of structural analysis, offshore standards, and steel construction manufacturing technologies
Business-fluent German and English, both spoken and written
Structured, solution-oriented working style combined with strong communication skills
